| if you want a cake you can eat dont bother with here |   | ordered our wedding cake from emily edgar in liverpool on the advice of my mother in laws brother. who has used emily before. she charged a bit on the high side for a 3 tier chocolate cake. but since i had no experience of wedding cakes i assumed this was right. i asked for a 3 tier chocolate cake with top layer in dark chocolate second layer milk and bottom layer white. didnt order topers or decoration left it up to her.
the cake arived and it was not what ordered being all brown fondant covered chocolate cake with white and brown fondant roses. i never mentioned fondant/icing, and was quite disapointed but thought as long as it tasted good i was going to get over it. we cut the cake at the wedding and agve out slices for people to take home having the full bottom layer left. i tried some cake on our wedding reception and couldnt take more than one bite i threw the rest. it was very dry. and the fondant/ icing was sickly. i couldnt even taste chocolate even though the sponge was brown. we threw most of the cake a few days after we got home as it was just inedible.
