Wedding | | We paid our deposit to get married at Buckland Hall, after going to visit it twice. We asked, and both sets of parents asked, whether we had to pay for any of the rooms if guests didn't stay and on each occasion we were told "no". When it came to signing the contract, it stated that a minimum of 50 guests' rooms had to be paid for. When I questioned Buckland Hall about this, they cancelled our wedding booking and returned our deposit, even though we didn't once say we wanted to cancel. I was completely shocked by their response and devastated that they destroyed our wedding plans. They lied to us and mis-sold their venue (charging £4000 for the venue when it's really £6800 and only £4000 if 50 guests stay overnight). I am letting all those who are looking at Buckland Hall as a potential wedding venue to beware this fact, as it has unfortunately caused us much stress and heartache at a time that should be happy. | Jess - 18/11/2014 |
