Great food, beautiful venue, but shame it let us down! | | All I need to say is not to book a wedding here. During the planning, the wedding coordinator changed 3 times, within 6 months. Not a good start. Things we had arranged with one, would change as the new coordinator was not aware and no notes were left for them. Eventually everything was sorted out, but not before there had been a lot of tears from the bride. Awful experience for her. On the day it started well, except the wedding coordinator was just like a robot, this was just another wedding for her and she did not make us feel special. The venue did look lovely, and was beautifully decorated, the food was also great for catering on mass. But this is were it ends. The electricity went, during the meal, meaning we had to eat in darkness. Secondly they failed to provide a second glass of wine, which the bride had paid for. The outside patio area was dirty and covered in cigarette butts, luckily the photographer could edit this out, but it was highly embarrassing. Because the electrics went, there was no draft lager, so guests had to pay extra for bottles. Was this a ploy to get us to pay more? Who knows! Finally on leaving the next day the bride asked for her cake, and was told as the night staff had failed to cover the bottom two, most expensive layers, and so they threw it out for health and safety reasons! I think I would like to make that decision thank you! All in all, the venue looks lovely for a wedding, just a shame that all they care about it taking your money and getting your day done, just to get the next bride and groom in. They recently advertised a deal through groupon, which speaks volume to me. We have sent a number of letters to resolve this, but the owner has ignored them all. | Sarah Wilson - 14/02/2012 |
