| Stunning venue, hap-hazard wedding planning |   | I got married at Fountains Abbey in 2010. We chose the venue for its stunning setting and were not disappointed with the photographic opportunities on the day. We were, however, disappointed with the service we received from the wedding coordinators in the lead up to the wedding (though, to be fair, not on the day, when everything ran smoothly). From booking, we had three different wedding coordinators, as staff seemed to leave the job very quickly and move on to other things. We felt, at times, as though the large amount of money we were paying to hire the Hall and reception venue wasn't really appreciated and that private customers, like ourselves, were treated 'second' to the average visitor and their experience. This is a great shame because if we had been made to feel more valued and had been informed of important building projects before our wedding had taken place we would have given this venue 5 stars.
I highly recommend it as a beautiful venue, but I do so with a caution: check and double check all the arrangements yourself, be prepared to be told that you can't do certain things that have no real logic behind them, and don't expect to be treated any different to a normal day tripper just because you're spending lots more money with them! | | Nimue - 26/07/2010 |
