Glenskirlie Castle | | This is the most fantastic wedding venue. Right from the outset they cannot be more helpful, their wedding brochure is prestented in a beautiful box. On your first meeting you get a personal tour round the venue (when I booked that Castle was not actaully built but I got shown very detailed mockups and designs). Lots of menu options are provided and they will cater for special requests (I am a vegetarian and the chef made me a special meal chosen from the restaurant a la carte menu). On drinks packages they only charge you for what you actually use (which means if not everyone takes their drinks you get a refund aferwards). In the run up to my big day I was given lots of support and any information that I requested. On the big day you could not be made to feel more like a princess, the bride is given outstanding attention (during the buffet they actually brought food to me rather than me having to go for it!). They regularly check that you are happy (without being obtrusive). They catered to all my special requests (like every bride I wanted certain thinkgs in certain places). The rooms are fabulous (the honeymoon suite was as big as my flat!). You really are made to feel like the most important person in the world. A wedding will most likely also be on in Glenskirlie House (next door) on the same day with their guests also staying in the castle but you would never know (the only signs to us were the piper playing outside - nice freebie as it was for the other bride and when they come to collect you to go down they go and check the other bride is not making her way down at the same time so that it is your special moment. One warning - this place books up a long way in advance (we booked nearly 2 years in advance). I love this place :) | Mary Anne Muldoon - 13/11/2008 |
